We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a smooth operation within our clinic. This role requires a blend of technical skills and retail acumen to effectively guide patients in selecting the right eyewear solutions.

Duties

Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their needs and preferences.
Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
Maintain accurate patient records, including prescriptions and eyewear orders.
Utilize systems for managing inventory and processing sales transactions.
Provide education to patients regarding proper care of eyewear and contact lenses.
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated on the latest optical technologies, trends, and products to provide informed recommendations.
Handle billing processes as needed, ensuring accuracy in patient accounts.

Experience Candidates should possess a strong background in optical services. Experience in the following areas is preferred:

Knowledge of VSP billing preferred.
Familiarity with retail math principles for effective sales transactions.
Understanding of physiology as it relates to eye health.
Previous experience in a clinic or retail environment is highly desirable.
Skills in customer service, with an emphasis on building rapport with patients.
Proficiency in utilizing various systems for inventory management and patient record keeping
