Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) or soon to be become Optician needed in Federal Way

We are a busy, patient-centered ophthalmology practice committed to providing exceptional eye care with compassion and professionalism. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Licensed Dispensing Optician to join our team.  Full-time or Part-time (Flexible Schedule).

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames and ophthalmic lenses that best meet their visual and lifestyle needs.

• Take accurate optical measurements, including PD, segment height, vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt, and wrap.

• Interpret and dispense prescriptions accurately.

• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and specialty products.

• Perform frame adjustments, repairs, fittings, and troubleshooting.

• Verify eyewear for accuracy before dispensing.

• Process optical orders and communicate with lens laboratories.

• Maintain inventory and organize the optical dispensary.

• Provide outstanding customer service throughout the patient experience.

• Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, technicians, and front office staff.

• Experience with vision insurance and optical billing is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) prefer but not necessary as long as you have experience in optical setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Positive attitude with a commitment to exceptional patient care.

• Experience in an ophthalmology or optometry practice is preferred but not required.
