Lilac Family Eye Care in Liberty Lake is seeking a Licensed Dispensing Optician

Lilac Family Eye Care is a one-doctor optometry practice seeking a full-time or part-time Optician for our Liberty Lake, Washington location. We are a professional practice, with a strong focus on a positive experience for both patients and staff. Teamwork, collaboration, and doing right by our patients are our top priorities.

The ideal candidate will be someone with optical experience who is either looking to grow into an office manager role, or someone with both optical and management experience. This position also has the opportunity to grow into a full time position with benefits, if desired. Initial days will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Top pay for the right individual, and will depend on level of experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering a “WOW” experience to each and every patient

• Collecting and inputting patient demographic and insurance info into our electronic records

• Educating and assisting patients in selecting glasses frames and lenses, as well as add-on’s recommended by the doctor

• Make additional recommendations to suit patient’s needs and lifestyle

• Taking glasses-related measurements

• Troubleshooting glasses and Rx checks

• Adjusting and repairing glasses

• Maintaining frames inventory

• Verify quality of finished frames, and insure that they meet specifications

• Educate patients on glasses care, and/or contact lens care

• Instruct new contact lens patients on insertion and removal techniques as directed by the doctor

• Prepare patient invoices and collect payment

• Assist in answering the phone, addressing patient questions, scheduling appointments, and triaging patients and taking messages for the doctor as needed

• Work closely with frame and lens reps, and our labs to insure quality and timely product delivery

• Assist the doctor with insurance benefits verification

• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• LDO and/or ABOC

• Must be a friendly and outgoing person

• Must be detail oriented and able to multitask

• Must have a stable work history

• High school or equivalent education

Preferred but not required:

• Proficiency with Revolution EHR

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour + commission

COVID-19 considerations: We are a healthcare facility, and as such, all employees and patients are required to be masked when patients/customers are in the office in accordance with CDC guidelines. Frames and exam lanes are sterilized after each use.
