Bellevue Eye Specialists is Looking for a Apprentice Dispensing Optician

We are a thriving independent optical shop and ophthalmology clinic in Old Downtown Bellevue. We are looking for a dispensing optician apprentice to join a team of the most experienced opticians in the State of Washington.

The position can be full-time or part-time. Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Job Descriptions:

• Conduct patient work-ups, take patient’s medical histories

• Perform preliminary testing using ophthalmic equipment

• Administer eye medications and do eye pressure check

• Assist doctor during eye evaluation and assessment

• Assist customers in choosing their frames and prescription lenses

• Fit and dispense spectacles and contact lenses

• Perform administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and learning basic billing skill

Qualifications:

• Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate issued by the Governor of Washington State

• Work experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.

• Proficient computer skills, experience with EHR systems is a plus

• Good communication and customer service skills with outgoing personality

• Good team player who is motivated, reliable, and willing to learn.

• High school or equivalent education
