Adjustment 201: Systematically Solving Problems with Position of Wear Adjustments

Instructed by: Cira Collins, MPH, ABOC-AC

Length: 1 hour

Course Description: A quality adjustment is so much more than making sure a frame is straight and comfortable.  Opticians have phenomenal lens solutions today, but after we get the frame back from the lab, we often slap the glasses on the patient and call it good.  But what if we could maximize lens performance through careful adjustments in all three dimensions?  How do we handle patients who come back with complaints in their progressives that the lens was supposed to solve?  Save your doctor the Rx Check chair time by systematically adjusting frames to solve problems, maximize the value of digital lenses and wow patients with the value you as an optician add to your optical practice.  This class will teach you how to systematically evaluate and manipulate eyewear position to solve optical problems with digital lenses and allow your lens tools to do their best work.

Rose-colored Glasses: How Our Eyes Perceive Color and How You Can Manipulate Color Like a Wizard

Instructed by: Cira Collins, MPH, ABOC-AC

Learn how to identify what colors to use to enhance particular activities (like office work, driving or sports) and how to wield the tools in your les toolbelt to enhance patient color perception specific to the lens use.
