Wage Information

WAGE SURVEY 2010 STATE OF WASHINGTON (April 2010)
By Diane Charles

106 people responded

   All but 19 were licensed

14 people have worked 1 - 5 years

14 people have worked 6 - 10 years

8 people have worked 11 - 15 years

The rest are over 16 years in the business!!

16 of us work for MD's

10 of us for independent LDO's

37 work for OD's

And the rest for corporate America

We were pretty evenly split about training, school vs's apprenticeship training

With the exception of 1 individual, we all receive benefits of some kind.

Only 5 people were salaried.

Wages varied from $12.00 an hour to $75.00 an hour, with the average by far at $25.00 per hour.

Slightly more of us work nights and weekends than not.

Most of us still work a 40 hour work week

By far, most of us are commuting 25 miles or more each way to work and home, with a few of us lucky enough to live within 5 miles of our jobs.

I have already received suggestions on questions to ask for the next survey!

Thank You

Diane Charles  LDO,  HFOAA
