WAGE SURVEY 2007  STATE OF WASHINGTON  (October 2007)

By Diane Charles

The results of the wage survey taken over the last 3 months:

127 people have responded.

It was almost equally split in those that work for retail versus those that work in medical, OD or MD situations.

We were @ one third - two thirds, east side of the mountains to the west
side of the mountains. There seemed to be no difference between wages
from east to west or numbers of medical to retail from east to west.
Percentages seemed to be the same.

Equally split on those that work Saturday hours, versus those that do not.
Obviously Retail covered most of the Saturday hours, but not all was retail.

With the exception of 11 people, everyone who responded had benefits of some kind,
some specified kind most did not.

Number of years in the business, Most were under 5 years or over 20 years.
There appeared to be a huge gap between the 6th year and the 16th year!

The wages: 1 at $9.00 per hour, 1 at $90,00 per year! With those exceptions:
The average was $20.00 per hour. The range was $17.00 - $24.00.
Equal numbers above and below that range.

I hope this is helpful to you!
