Licensed Dispensing Opticians are required to take a minimum of 30 hours of credited courses per 3 year term. At a minimum, 15 hours or more must be in Contact Lens Dispensing, with the balance being in Dispensing of Spectacles or related courses.
The OAW provides all opticians an opportunity to receive these credits throughout the year. Holding two conventions (one East side and one West side) a year.

Please remember that you cannot repeat a course within your 3 year CEC reporting period and get credit more than once. Each separate course counts once, except for the courses like Round Table and Grand Rounds (topics and learning outcomes change each time). So, check the titles of your past courses before you sign up for another class.
